Coordinate Search for Sand Samples – Find the Exact Location
With the coordinate search, you can help me determine the exact locations of my sand samples worldwide and verify existing ones. These coordinates are crucial for both new samples and the correction of existing samples in my collection. Accurate documentation of locations improves the quality and precision of my collection, ensuring that the sand samples are properly associated with the places they originated from.
How to Determine the Exact Coordinates
The use of the interactive map is simple:
- Select Continent and Country: The Google Maps map is initially centered on Germany. Choose the desired continent and country from the drop-down menu where the sand sample was found or needs to be verified. The map will then center on the selected country.
- Use the Google Maps Map: Use the zoom function to focus on the exact area where the sand sample was found. Zoom in closer to better view the exact location.
- Place the Marker: There is a marker in the center of the map, which you can select with the mouse and drag and drop to the exact location. Once the marker is placed, the map will automatically center, and the coordinates of the center of the map (where the marker is) will be determined.
- Display Coordinates: The latitude and longitude will appear immediately once the marker is correctly set. You can note these coordinates or use them directly for your purposes.
- Submit Coordinates: Send me the determined coordinates via email to update the location in my database or accurately document new samples. You can also use the coordinates to correct or verify existing locations.
